Modelling of structural concrete in design and analysis of structures presents a challenging task due to the complex behaviour of plain and reinforced concrete. A review of models covers most important and useful approaches, such as truss analogy, plasticity models, strut and ties, nonlinear finite element models, their approximations and range of application. The features of general nonlinear finite element models are discussed in more detail including their experimental validation.
