On behalf of the Organising and Scientific Committees and the partner organisations, we are delighted to publish the proceedings of the 3rd fib Italy YMG Symposium on Concrete and Concrete Structures, held on 16–17 November 2023 in Torino (Italy).

This is the third edition of the Symposium organized by the national association fib Italy Young Members Group (YMG). The Symposium is conceived as an opportunity to give visibility to the research work of young engineers and to create an open forum on the most recent advances in the field of concrete construction. The theme of this edition, “Concrete challenges in a sustainable perspective”, is dedicated to innovations in the field of reinforced concrete structures aiming at reducing the environmental impact of the construction sector.

The Symposium brought together about 70 young engineers and researchers from Italy and abroad. The collected papers were presented in six parallel sessions over two days, covering a variety of themes related to the analysis and modelling of new and existing structures, durability, retrofit solutions, sustainability, cementitious composites, monitoring, and performance optimization.

All the papers included in these proceedings were peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee, comprising a selected group of experts in their respective fields. Their work and contribution are greatly appreciated and acknowledged.
