No. 56. Second fib Italy YMG Symposium on Concrete and Concrete Structures - Proceedings November 18-19, 2021 Roma, Italy PDF format
On behalf of the Organising and Scientific Committees, and the partner organisations, it is with great pleasure that we publish these proceedings of scientific papers presented at the 2nd fib Italy YMG Symposium on Concrete and Concrete Structures, held on 18–19 November 2021 in Rome, Italy.
This second edition of the Symposium was organised by the national association fib Italy Young Members Group (YMG), following the successful first edition held in Parma in 2019. The Symposium focuses on the activities of young researchers and practitioners working in the field of cementitious materials and reinforced concrete structures and infrastructure. The 2021 theme, “The future of concrete structures: towards resilience and technical innovation,” highlights the essential role of younger generations in driving innovation in the construction sector. The event also attracted strong interest from industry partners.
The 2021 Symposium brought together more than 70 young engineers and researchers from Italy and several other countries, including the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. The contributions were presented in seven sessions over two days, covering a range of topics including advanced modelling of reinforced concrete structures, seismic design and assessment, innovative strengthening systems, durability and corrosion, advanced cementitious materials, digital fabrication, and sustainability. At the end of the Symposium, four best presentations were awarded the “fib Italy YMG Award for Best Research Advances in Concrete and Concrete Structures.”
All papers included in these proceedings were peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee, comprising a selected group of experts and leading researchers in their respective fields. Their contribution and effort are greatly appreciated and gratefully acknowledged.
