No. 19. Keep Concrete Attractive - 6th fib Symposium Proceedings Vol. 2. - 23-25 May 2005 - Budapest, Hungary PDF format
Concrete has been the most widely used construction material during the last 100 years and may at the same time be considered an evolutionary material, able to follow technological improvements in response to the increasing demand for sustainable materials in construction.
In this context, the fib Symposium “Keep Concrete Attractive” is considered an important international event, providing an open forum where researchers, designers, and contractors can share their ideas and experiences with the common goal of making concrete an increasingly attractive construction material.
The Symposium topics, together with more traditional subjects such as advances in modelling, design, prefabrication, and fire resistance of concrete structures, will also address the architectural aspects of concrete and the use of innovative materials, with the overall objective of promoting sustainable concrete structures.
I am confident that the delegates to this Symposium will greatly benefit from their active participation and that the event will be a great success.
