Taking advantage of the fib Symposium 2004 in New Delhi from the 27th to the 29th, it was thought that presence of some of the experts who will be participating in the Symposium should be taken subject. A similar workshop slightly different topicwise was organised in November 2003 in Chenni. That workshop was well attended by delegates from South India and greatly appreciated. This workshop is targeted mainly for andience in the North, where there is a greater possibility of seismic impact on civil construction for the masses. We hope the opportunity will be availed of by the civil engineering fraternity in India and generously participated by them. We are certain the workshop will provide a fora for the participants for discussions and unteraction with international experts.
