N°218. 1993. Ductility - Reinforcement - Progress Report.

As a rule CEB's Bulletins d'Information publish the scientific output of a Task Group or Commission, a common view, created by harmonizing the work of several authors. Therefore, the publication of the following individual contributions in the

format of a bulletin needs some justification.

The Task's Group's working programme bas been published in Bulletin 200. Tuis work is going ahead as scheduled. Furthermore, the group is preparing a workshop during the 29th CEB Plenary Session in Les Diablerets in September. Although the significance of the topic is widely recognized, the workshop is bound to raise considerable debate on the subject.

For the Task Group and the Commission 2 of CEB it seemed reasonable, therefore, departing from the norrnal practice, to publish the available research results of the group's members as a progress report, forming a basis for discussion and enabling participants in the workshop in Les Diablerets to understand its background.
