The clauses on shear and tors ion in Chapters 11 and 12 of the CEB-FIP Model Code for Concrete Structures were developed by CEB Commission V in the years 1972 to 1977.

This Bulletin gives some of the background to the new code in the form of contri buti ons from individual members of the Commission. For ease of reference , the code clauses are reproduced at the start of the text. 

The agreement reached by the Commission was on the Model Code clauses. The papers collected here present various theoretical interpretations by individual members.
