N°194. 1990. Modelling of Structural Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete in Computer Programs.

Since the 24th Plenary Session in Rotterdam 1984 it has become a habit to devote one afternoon to parallel discussion sessions on selected topics introduced briefly by invited speakers. From the beginning it was felt, however, that these interesting events required some recording for the participants, also as information for those who joined the other parallel discus sion session or for CEB-members who could not participate at all. 

During the 26th Plenary Session in Dubrovnik one of the selected topics was "Modelling of Structural Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete in Computer Programs" (Session IV B). In partial fulfilment of the Technica! Resolution No. 6, passed in Dubrovnik (cf. to CEB-NEWS No. 83), the contributions to this session are compiled in this volume. 

Whereas predominantly in CEB's Bulletins d' Information only such material is pre sented which has been prepared by Commissions or General Task Groups, i. e. which bas been "filtered" by a process of harmonization, f or the above mentioned special discussions introductory speakers were invited. The contributions published here reflect, therefore, to a certain extent personal views. They were highly appreciated, however, as a stimulus for discus sions and as a presentation of new perspectives. The additional eff orts of all speakers to provide a written contribution based on their oral presentation as well as the preparatory work and chairmanship of the session's technica! coordinators are gratefully acknowledged.
