This report is an excellent reflection of the widening field of possibilities for concrete at sea.
I am very grateful that the Working Group on Sea Operations, under the chairmanship of Dr A. A. Denton, is so active and that its members have such good access to facts in their field of interest. For centuries, people have sailed the seas, but seldom with objects of such unusual shape, draught, displacement, and the like. Also, the sea conditions are novel, for example in Arctic waters. Under these circumstances, a rapid exchange of experience and views is important.
I am looking forward to a discussion on this subject and hope that this Working Group will remain in the forefront in the coming years, in the interest of the whole field of Concrete at Sea.
