N°180. 1987. Shear in Prestressed Concrete Members - State-of-the-Art Report.

Shortly after the reformation of the CEB in 1979 it was recognized that the 1978 Model Code's treatment of shear in prestressed concrete was not altogether satisfactory. 

Task Group TG/IV/1 was formed to study the subject and comprised

The group decided that prestressed concrete should not be treated in isolation and embarked upon a more general review of shear resistance. The main results of their deliberations have been reported in bulletin 146. 

After this, the work on prestressed concrete has been undertaken by Professor Walraven who has prepared the present state of the art report. This report has been discussed within Commission IV and was approved for publication at the Commission meeting in Karlsruhe in November 1986. 

The Commission is grateful to Professor Walraven for his very considerable efforts and we are confident that the report will be of wide interest. it will have particular use in the preparation of the revised Model Code for the 90's.
