Chapter II-6-74 of SNiP “Loads and Effects” was prepared by the Kucherenko Central Research Institute for Structural Design (TsNIISK), with the participation of the research institutes TsNIIproektstal’konstruktsii, TsNIIPromzdanii, NIIZhB, the Gersevanov NIIOSP, NIISF of Gosstroi USSR, the Voeikov Main Geophysical Observatory of Glavgidromet, and VNIIelektroenergetiki of the USSR Ministry of Energy.

The present chapter supersedes the previous SNiP chapter P-A.11-62, “Loads and Effects. Design Specifications,” including Amendment No. 1 and Appendix 1, as well as the documents “Requirements for the Determination of Ice Loads” (SN 318-65) and “Requirements for the Determination of Loads Due to Suspension Cranes” (SN 355-66).

The editorial board consisted of Engineers B. Ya. Govorovsky and F. M. Shlemin, and Candidates of Engineering Sciences F. V. Bobrov (Gosstroi USSR), A. A. Bat’, L. V. Klepikov, and V. A. Otstavnov (TsNIISK).
