The Committee responsible for producing this Manual initially included the following members:

The present edition was prepared by an Editorial Team including the Chairman, P. Napoli, F. Mola, and M. Koprna.

The Chairman is directly responsible for Chapters 1 and 2, and P. Napoli for Chapter 3. F. Mola made a substantial contribution to the discussion of theoretical aspects and examples. M. Koprna established the diagrams of Appendix C on the basis of a computer program originally developed by Z. P. Bažant.

While preparing successive drafts, the Committee received valuable assistance and suggestions from A. A. Gozdev, S. V. Alexandrovsky (formerly a member of the Committee), F. Levi, M. Birkenmaier, M. Thenoz, D. Jevtic (†), P. Jacques, T. Brøndum-Nielsen, J. M. Illston, L. B. Carneiro, and from H. Rüsch (†), to whose memory the Committee pays particular tribute.

G. Losana assisted in the final review of the Manual and developed the programs and computations for some of the figures; the assistance of D. Munari in the development of the computer program for Appendix F is acknowledged. E. G. Pozzi was responsible for the production of the camera-ready text and for liaison with the publisher.
