N° 122.1977. CEB Manual of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Design and Technology
This Manual on autoclaved aerated concrete is the second in a series of technical handbooks being produced by the Comité Euro-International du Béton (CEB), some on its own and others in collaboration with the International Federation for Prestressing (FIP).
It is the result of the work of the CEB Working Group on Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, established by Commission XII of CEB, “Lightweight Concrete Structures.” The creation of such a group was considered necessary in view of the fundamental differences between autoclaved aerated concrete—a fine, cellular cement matrix—and concretes made with lightweight aggregates, both in terms of their physical properties and their practical applications.
Autoclaved aerated concrete does not yet form part of the CEB-FIP Model Code for Concrete in its 1978 edition. The present Manual therefore serves as a source of information on the technology of this material and the construction methods associated with it, but it is not directly referable to the Code.
It nevertheless provides important additional knowledge for practising engineers, as well as for materials producers and research workers, and thus holds a significant place among the other handbooks in the present series.
