N° 153. 1982. Structural Analysis - Enlarged Meeting of the Commission - Volume 1

The area of interest of COMMISSION II (STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS) has bee n identified as that of the problems concerning the "determination of the load effects" (détermination des sollecitations) , that is the procedures treated in Chapter 8 of the CEB Mode l Code ) structures composed of monodimensional members, as conti nuous beams and frames) and in Chapter 9 (slabs , deep beams and shells) . 

It was also recognized that the subject cannot be treated without a strict correlation at least with two other subjects: 

-    the formulation of the safety equations and of the loading conditions, particularly for the specific treatment of nonlinear analysis, of the model uncertainty, the level of linearisation, safety in presence of imposed deformations;

-    the idealisation of the deformability of members for the analysis,

in its different forms of constitutive laws of materials, moment­curvature laws, rotations capacity and ductility.

The main areas in which improvements of the M.C. by further studies seem needed were chose n as working areas for 3 Task Groups : 

-    Behaviour of 2-dimensional reinforced concrete elements;

-    Thermal effects ;
