This Design Manual has been compiled in accordance with the following guidance issued by the CEB. Each manual should include:
- a short description of its scope;
- a brief recapitulation and, where necessary, an extension of the relevant clauses of the Recommendations;
- suggestions for techniques for solving inherent problems, taking into account:
a) the variety of problems to be solved,
b) the degree of approximation required and the limitations of the application of the proposed methods, and
c) the different methods that can be used (formulae, diagrams, tables, computer programs); - examples of application;
- where relevant, flow diagrams of computer programs.
The manuals should take due account of the fact that they are intended to serve as models for the development of national manuals.
