N° 124.1978. International System of Unified Standard Codes of Practice for Structures, Volumes 1 and 2

The second edition of the unified CEB/FIP International Recommendations for the design and construction of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures was published in 1970.

Since then, at a meeting convened on the initiative of CEB in April 1974 in Athens, it was agreed that the CEB/FIP Recommendations should form part of a “Unified International System of Codes of Practice for Civil Engineering”, a work of much wider scope to be developed in close cooperation with other international engineering associations forming part of the Liaison Committee of International Associations for Civil Engineering—in particular the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (CECM), the International Council for Building (CIB), the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), and the International Union of Testing and Research Laboratories for Materials and Structures (RILEM)—as well as with the most important national and international organisations of the construction industry and professions.
