N° 159. 1983. Application of the Finite Element-Method to Two-Dimensional Reinforced Concrete Structures - Simplified Methods of Calculating Short Terms Deflections of Reinforced Concrete Slabs
The documents included in this Bulletin and submitted to the CEB General Assembly in Prague (October 1983) :
Application of the Finite Element-Method to Two-Dimensional Reinforced Concrete Structures
Simplified Methods of Calculating Short Terms Deflections of Reinforced Concrete Slabs have been produced within the frame of the CEB COMMISSION II (STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS).
The Commission, appointed in 1979, identified its main mission in the improvement of the parts of the Model Code dealing with the "determination of the load effects".
In this respect, Chapter 8, dealing with continuous beams and frames, did not receave essential criticisms, when Chapter 9, dealing with slabs, deep beams and shells, was judged to need important additions.
Other related subjects were matter of studies and contributions:
- The improvement of methods for nonlinear analysis.
- The study of the uncertainties of the structural models and of the randomness of the structural behaviour (effects of ductility and brittleness).
